Dr. Nanar Hovasapian
Dr. Nanar grew up in Glendale, CA. She graduated from Hoover High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from UCLA in 2009. She graduated as Salutatorian from Western University of Health Sciences and earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2014. She has worked in and around the Greater Los Angeles area in both optometry and ophthalmology offices since 2008.
Her main interest is fitting patients with custom contact lenses. She has expertise in fitting a wide range of corneal conditions with many different types of lenses – small diameter RGP lenses, scleral contact lenses, hybrid contact lenses, soft contact lenses, and orthokeratology/ corneal refractive therapy (CRT) lenses.
She has a passion for scleral lenses as she has seen the significant improvement they have made in her patients’ lives. Patient-specific medical indications have included: corneal transplant, post-refractive surgery (RK, LASIK, PRK), corneal scarring, corneal injury, keratoconus, pellucid degeneration, dry eye, dry eye related to Sjogren’s syndrome, corneal irregularity related to Stevens-Johnson syndrome, corneal dystrophy, corneal ectasia, surgical complications, and high amounts of astigmatism.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association. In her spare time, she likes to travel, swim, and spend quality time with family.

Elizabeth has worked in the eye care field for over ten years as an optician, optometric and ophthalmic assistant. Aside from learning more about the eyes, she enjoys making costumes, illustrating, and playing all types of games. She is especially obsessed with Pokémon Go and probably always will be along with her husband. She hopes to become fluent in Spanish and Japanese one day.
